Hi, thanks for visiting my site!
I am a semi-professional women’s baseball player. Baseball has been my lifelong passion since the age of nine. I started playing little league with the boys, earning the Cy Young Award (“best-pitcher-in-the-league award”) two-years in a row.
Since then, I’ve played summer ball in the American Women’s Baseball Association, the Great Lakes Women’s Baseball League, and currently, the Chicago Women’s Baseball League. I hold the best pitching record with 12 wins - 2 losses, and led my team to a championship trophy. I have competed nationally with teams from around the country. I have a bronze medal from the 2007 Roy Hobbs Women’s Baseball National Championships. I train year-round, six days a week.
This year, I’ve been given the opportunity of a lifetime. I am one of twelve players in the continent selected to play on the North American/Hong Kong team in the 2009 Hong Kong International Women’s Baseball Phoenix Cup. It is my first opportunity to play overseas. I will be competing against teams from Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Australia. I am so excited about the high level of competition, and the cross-cultural aspect as well.
In the summer, I will be competing in five national tournaments and playing in a men's baseball league as well. Next Fall, I have a tryout for a pro-league in Florida. If I make the cut, I will be playing professional baseball in Winter/Spring 2009/2010.
My participation in all of the above are dependent on whether or not I can raise enough funds for travel, fees, lodging, etc. I am seeking both individual and corporate sponsorships. My background as a professional actress (SAG/AFTRA), corporate trainer, and public speaker, make me a perfect candidate to promote sponsor products. I will also place logos on warm-up jerseys, equipment bags, websites, and newsletters.
Women's baseball has been getting more notoriety lately - Japan just drafted its first woman to play in the pros and the IBAF is lobbying to have baseball reinstated as an Olympic sport. It's a great time to educate people about the existence of women's baseball and aid in its growth worldwide.
By playing in these international tournaments and networking with ballplayers and coaches from other countries, I will promote the sport of women's baseball on a global level.
